Here are some links to the main areas we covered at the Lead Teacher meeting... The families section has been updated and now includes... An  introductory video  for parents Maths at our house section  - good for classroom themes (includes gardening/recycling/reading and more). Knowledge activities  which could be good for homework Math Kete  - ideas for parents about creating a kete of equipment to support maths at home. A resource finder has been added to nzmaths. 'Figure it out' books are now online. Unfortunately some of the older books are not available. When they were published permission wasn't collected to post the children's photos online.  Check out the books and teachers notes here... Position and Orientation - Most of the activities we looked at for Level 2/3 were from figure it out books and were fun hands on activities.  This book was recommended for teaching angles... We looked at the unit Scatter Cat from nzmaths and how it can be adapted to use across the school. It was suggested to use video as a change from the book to engage the children. If you are wanting to clarify where your children should be working at in relation to the strands/national standards it is clearly set out on nzmaths.
