A resource finder has been added to nzmaths.
'Figure it out' books are now online. Unfortunately some of the older books are not available. When they were published permission wasn't collected to post the children's photos online.

Position and Orientation - Most of the activities we looked at for Level 2/3 were from figure it out books and were fun hands on activities.
This book was recommended for teaching angles...
We looked at the unit Scatter Cat from nzmaths and how it can be adapted to use across the school. It was suggested to use video as a change from the book to engage the children.
If you are wanting to clarify where your children should be working at in relation to the strands/national standards it is clearly set out on nzmaths. There are also illustrations of the standards across the levels here.
The accelerating learning in maths project intervention materials are now available in draft form.
These cover trouble spots children often strike. They give examples of deliberate acts of teaching, what to do when a child is stuck, home based activities and where to next in the classroom.
