ICT - PL more uploading, video, powerpoint, kidpix

Powerpoint is another way of making photo stories with your class. You can use both photographs and/or drawings that have been saved as jpegs (kidpix, mimio drawings etc). Author stream and slideshare are both sites to upload your power point too in order to embed it into your blog site Room 1 and their Room 10 buddies More PowerPoint presentations from aSGuest134268 Another way is to save the powerpoint as a movie and upload as a movie onto your blog.  Greedy Cat

ICT PL - uploading photo sites

Thanks for your engagement today. Don't forget about saving mimio pages as jpeg as something different to add to your blogs. Just save it as a jpeg and upload straight to your blog as an image. The two sites we looked at were Photo peach flickr I discovered how to make captions on your slideshow in photo peach... 1. make the slideshow as we did today. 2. Before you copy the embed code - click edit, and select photos and captions. It lets you easily add captions to each slide. Also on edit you can delete slide shows too!!

Video Resources

I have made a new link list with both the e-central wikispace and the central otago ultra net page, on the right hand side of this blog. If you need to go back and reread or access any of the resources that Dave and Karla set up for us, you can do that here.

Reading resource for your blog and wikispace

Hi. Looking at Room 2's wikispace and I was reminded of this reading website that is a great resource. It has guided reading resource, kids can read on line, it is in parts. Also has before and after discussion points and worksheets to reinforce aspects of reading skills and knowledge. Interactive Reading Games has alphabetical order games, sentences that need fullstops or capital letters etc (also with printable activities). Enjoy. (:

Websites about the Body

Rebecca has put links to websites about the body on her blog page. Videos from you tube there too. Thanks Rebecca

IXL and Maths links

Today we are going to look at two websites to use in your maths programme. They are fabulous for making sure that the children are practising their goals or learning intentions when using the computer or mimio. What do you like about these websites? Try them out with your children and see what you think. Any issues? problems or thoughts? Leave a comment

Maths site for transformation

Hi. I use this site quite a lot and I know there are heaps of things out there showing reflection, rotation and translation but I quite like the tutorial type activities on this one and they would be great used with your mimio boards - they are called elabs. So click on the link, go to geometry and see what is there and what suits your class. I put some of them onto my blog last year for the kids to play after we had done as a class. Love to know what you think. (: Jac http://www.harcourtschool.com/hspmath/na/index.html
